YOU matter.

Over the past few weeks, as I’ve been packing up my things and making last minute plans to move myself across the world, I’ve thought so much about YOU.

And I wonder- do you know how much you matter?

As support checks come in and I read all your encouraging emails and I sit across the table from you at lunch, I can’t help but ask myself- do they know how important they are to the Kingdom?

YOU-my incredible friends, most of whom have recently graduated from college and are now working your tails off 9-5 in your dream job (or maybe not so dreamy of a job yet), balancing the new craziness of a career and a husband and the beginnings of a family- I hope you know I couldn’t do this without you! Thank you for faithfully praying and giving your hard earned money, allowing me to go.

As you sit at that computer in your cubicle or coach your girls from the sidelines of the soccer field or stand in front of a classroom full of students or clock in for one more day at work and you wonder if your life really matters- it does! It really does. Thank you for daily being a light in dark places of America-wherever you are-and thank you for humbly sending me where you can’t go!

And YOU-all the stay at home moms spending your days playing with your precious little ones, changing diapers, cooking dinner, taking care of the house- I pray that you too know that you really are making a difference! Your kids are SO blessed to have you right there loving and providing for them. So many kids around the world aren’t that lucky…thank you for caring about them too!

Those days you take time to send encouraging words or tell me that you’re praying for me mean so much! That sacrifice you make by cutting back on starbucks or hair highlights or hosting a fundraiser with your small group goes farther than you know. Thank you for investing your time and resources in the things that matter most!

And YOU-all of my amazing family who is more supportive of me than I could have ever asked…you guys make all this possible! In the midst of your busy lives, families to care for, and apparently a really bad economy? …thank you for constantly being so supportive of what the Lord calls me to!

Every time you ask questions, drive hours to meet me for lunch, send a quick text or put a support check in the mail…you are doing more for the Kingdom than I can even begin to tell! I can say in complete truth that without the love and support of my family, I wouldn’t be in this place today.

It’s scary and incredibly humbling to live totally dependent on other people. God thinks He’s real funny doing that to me. But without your financial support, ministry is practically impossible and I’ll end up living out on the streets too! Without your prayers, the enemy wins. And without your encouragement and support, I start feeling alone and really far away from home…

I am blessed beyond belief to be the one He’s called to go! But I pray you can see the whole picture with me today. I hope you know how much your life matters in the Kingdom of God and how deeply I need and appreciate what YOU do!

Thank you for faithfully answering His call on your life every single day to your family, your job, your spouse, your team, your roommates, your children here in America.

Thank you for being both locally involved and globally aware. I pray today you will walk confidently in the shoes He’s given you- knowing and believing that what you’re doing matters in the Kingdom of God.

Because it does.

“I thank my God every time I remember you, praying always with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.”
-Philippians 1:3-5
