The basics.

Maayong buntag! Good morning from the Philippines!

After many very hard goodbyes, 30 hours in the air, 4 different planes, and 3 days of traveling, Meagan and I FINALLY arrived in Malaybalay City exhausted, excited, and expectant for God to do great things.

We are blessed to live in this beautiful home right outside the city-

We live in the house with 3 1/2 other people- William and Tara Miller who are here in Malaybalay discipling youth and mentoring university students and Janno Van Graan another missionary from South Africa AND last but not least-Baby Miller due in June!

Meagan and I share a room..along with a few geckos and the occasional spider or two..and my bed (because I know you wanna know) is the one on the right!

All of my belongings (mainly just tshirts, lets be real) fit perfect on these handy shelves-

We’ve spent the past few days doing logistical things- unpacking, setting up our phones and bank accounts etc., and learning our way around town. Hopefully in a few days we will have our language tutor and we can start with intense language boot camp! I’m excited.

The Lord has brought a divine opportunity our way to start ministering to the street kids. I am AMAZED and thankful for His perfect provision! This truly has become “far more than I could ever think or imagine” and I can’t wait to share the details with you soon!

For now know that I’m alive and safe and my heart is so full. This country is starting to feel more like home to me every day! Please be praying for the perfect person to help me learn the language and pray for my brain to be able to soak in and remember it all quickly and efficiently.

Thank you for praying and loving me so well from afar! I remember each of you often and am thankful!

“I am the Lord; I have called you in righteousness; I will take you by the hand and keep you; I will give you as a covenant for the people, a light for the nations, to open eyes that are blind, to bring prisoners from the dungeon, from the prison those who sit in darkness..behold the former things have come to pass, and new things I now declare; before they spring forth I tell you of them.”
-Isaiah 42:6-9
